Up, Down, & All Around

This powerful message challenges us to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus amid the chaos and uncertainty of our world. Drawing from Hebrews 12:2 and the pivotal moment in Matthew 16 when Peter declared Jesus as the Messiah, we're reminded that our faith journey begins with a personal revelation of who Jesus truly is. The sermon explores three dimensions of honor: honoring up by submitting to God's authority, honoring down by serving others as Jesus demonstrated when He washed His disciples' feet, and honoring all around by building up the body of Christ. We're confronted with the reality that while governments may shift and persecution may rise, Jesus continues building His church on the foundation of revelation and submission. The washing of the disciples' feet becomes a profound picture of how Jesus sees and calls out the best in us, even in our weaknesses and failures. This isn't just about religious duty but about enjoying a relationship with God and allowing Him to transform us from ordinary to extraordinary. The call is clear: we're created for God's pleasure and purposes, and when we walk in honor toward God, our leaders, and one another, we participate in establishing His kingdom on earth.
