Hold Out Your Hand

What would you do if Jesus called you to the front of the room and asked you to display the very thing you have been hiding? That is exactly what happens in Mark chapter 3, where a man with a withered hand encounters Jesus in the synagogue. The story is deceptively simple, but its spiritual weight is enormous. We are invited to consider what it means to stop leading with our best hand and instead trust God with our weaknesses. The man's feet still worked even though his hand did not, and that detail matters. He used what he had to get to where healing was possible. How often do we allow the one broken thing in our lives to paralyze everything else that is still functioning? This message challenges us to stop fixating on what is not working and start moving toward Jesus with what we have. The miracle did not happen until the man held out the withered hand, not the good one. That is the invitation extended to each of us. Whatever we have been concealing, whether it is a struggling marriage, a burdened soul, a fearful mind, or a body in need of healing, Jesus is not asking us to come to him cleaned up. He is asking us to come as we are and hold out the very thing we have been hiding.
